ブラジル出身、カナダ在住の映像作家、ホジェリオ・ソレスさんが短編を見せ背景を説明してくれました。 天神山文化祭というイベントの一部でしたが、しっかりとした内容に参加者は魅了されていました。 作品は２５の国際ドキュメンタリーフィルムフェスティバルで上映されているもので、シネマトグラフィーというドキュメンタリーと美学の要素を併せ持った手法を使っているそうです。
Rogerio Sores, a Brazilian-born, Canada-based filmmaker, presented three short films at the Sapporo Tenjinyama Art Studio Cultural Festival. Although it was a short workshop, the audience was mesmerized by the films. These works, which were screened at 25 international documentary film festivals, were filmed using cinematography that is a combination of documentary and aesthetics.
アマゾンの先住民族の家族の絆、人間の愛をテーマにした３作品。 制作はアマゾンに住み、先住民の方達と信頼関係を築き上げるところから始まります。 友人とも家族とも言える関係になってから、撮影を始めます。
The theme is family ties and love among the indigenous people of the Amazon. Rogerio lived in the Amazon for several years and gradually built a relationship with the indigenous people. Then he began filming.
アマゾンの先住民はダムの乱開発により、住居を奪われ、言語や文化というアイデンティティも奪われる厳しい生活をしています。ホジェリオさんは、今はもう存在していないかもしれない彼らの歌、儀式、日常を映し出しています。私はフィルターとして彼らの現状を伝えて行きたい、と話します。
The indigenous people of the Amazon were deprived of their homes, their language, and culture by the construction of dams. Rogerio captured their culture, which may now be gone, including singing, rituals, and their daily life. ”I am a filter to tell their stories. My film is like a collaboration with them.” said Rogerio.
ホジェリオさんはブラジル南部の出身ですが、アマゾンはご家族が移り住んでいる縁のある土地です。 また、アマゾンには魂の繋がりのような自身の根源的なものを感じると言っていたのが印象的です。 「私たちと同じ地球に住んでいるアマゾンの人々が、厳しい生活を強いられています。作品を通じて、少しでも彼らのことを考えてみてください。
While Rogerio is originally from South Brazil, he and his family have moved to the Amazon, which he has strong ties with. “The people around the Amazon are going through a lot. Please think about our brothers and sisters who live on the same planet.”
