名前長いですね！そして、アイスランドから天神山にやって来た初めてのアーティストです。
Alexander Dan Vilhjalmsson is writer from Iceland.
He is the first Icelandic artist to come to Tenjinyama.
現在、「バヒテル/Vættir」という小説を執筆中で、
「フリムランド/Hrímland」という過去作品のアイスランド語⇒英語の翻訳も手がけているとの事です。
He came to work on writing his next novel, Vættir.
He is also working on translating his previous novel, Hrímland, from lcelandic into English.

「バヒテル/Vættir」
アイスランドの首都レイキャビックから始まる物語。不安やうつ病、社会からの疎外感に悩んでいる若い男が主人公。タイトルの「バヒテル」とはアイスランドの民間伝承の中に出てくる存在で、日本でいうところの妖怪のような存在で、滝の中に住んでいると言われています。この作品の中では、自然界の恐ろしいうねりのような奇妙な生き物として描かれております。はじめにアイスランドに現われたバヒテルは、その後時間が経つにつれてイングランド、日本、台湾を含む世界中の島々に出現し始めます。彼らは人間には見えないのですが、ゆっくりと世界を変化させてゆきます。滝が逆流しはじめ、高速道路が一晩で古代の森に変わり、人々が消えはじめるのです・・・
Vættir is a contemporary novel set in Iceland's capital, Reykjavík. It tells the story of a young man who is struggling with anxiety, depression and alienation to others and his own society. In the story the vættir manifest as bizarre and uncanny creatures, a horrific twist of the natural world. They are alien and incomprehensible to humans, but keep on appearing in our territory. Slowly the vættir start to claim our world and our environment starts changing. A waterfall starts flowing in reverse. An ancient forest grows overnight on a highway. People start disappearing. Vættir is about human consciousness and our relationship to nature and each other.
「フリムランド/Hrímland」
フリムランドは別世界のアイスランドが舞台となっているファンタジー小説です。その世界でアイスランドは民間伝承と現在が融合した幻想的な国になっています。主人公はサイムンドゥアという悪魔召喚士で、革命を扇動し彼女を追放しようとする圧政的な植民地政府を打ち破る物語です。Hrímland is a fantasy novel set in an alternative version of Iceland. In it Iceland's history, folklore and current state have been fused together to create a fantastical version of Iceland in the style of the New Weird literary movement. It tells the story of a demon-summoning galdramaður, Sæmundur, who practices a type of magic named galdur, and Garún, an outcast who uses any method she can to overthrow the oppressive colonial government that ostracises her and incite a revolution.
